Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have sent an additional 950 kits to the state of Florida, to test Zika virus in the people, who recently travelled to the Zika affected countries and shown the virus symptoms.
The statement from the governor, Rick Scott's office, said that, there are 16 Zika cases confirmed in Florida State, but none of them was contracted in the state. Also, there is none involve pregnant women.
According to the governor, till now, CDC has provided 1,425 antibody test kits to the Florida state. He also asked the CDC to provide more training to the workers of the Florida hospital to identify the symptoms of the Zika Virus. He added that, the government officials are giving all efforts to ensure that, the state is ready for a possible Zika outbreak. The virus can be spread through mosquito, which is usual in the state.
Officials of the Tennessee health department reported the first case of the virus in the state on Tuesday. The diagnosed person lives in eastern Tennessee and recently visited to the South America, officials added.
CDC announced that, the Zika is a mosquito born virus The most common symptoms of the virus are rash, fever, conjunctivitis (red eyes) and joint pains.
