Rick Scott, the governor of the Florida, has declared a health emergency on Wednesday in four counties of the Florida state. At least nine cases of the Zika virus have been found in the state.

Florida health officials said that, all the detected cases are from those people, who were diagnosed with the virus,  while,  travelling to the virus affected countries.

The governor said that, "we have to ensure Florida is prepared and stays ahead of the spread of the Zika virus in our state. We know that we must be prepared for the worst even as we hope for the best."

All the affected cases are found in Hillsborough, Lee, Santa Rosa and Miami-Dade counties. The governor signed the order to cover all these cities in the state.

The Zika is a mosquito born virus, which is linked to the brain abnormalities in the newly born babies. Primarily, the virus was spreading through the mosquito bites, but the investigators said that, it could be transmitted through sexual contact also.
