Xiaomi will release the 17 series in India during the second week of March. This new series will feature two devices: the basic Xiaomi 17 and the top model Xiaomi 17 Ultra. These smartphones were introduced in a few global markets last month, along with the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Xiaomi Watch 5. Now, it seems the company is getting ready to introduce another phone in this series. Named the Xiaomi 17T, this device is expected to be launched in India by the end of next month at the earliest. It is likely to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 series processor. A source on X, Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd), has revealed possible launch dates for a rumored Xiaomi 17 series phone. According to industry insiders, the Xiaomi 17T might be released in India either at the end of April or in May. Although the company hasn't officially confirmed this, it aligns with an earlier leak that indicated the Xiaomi 17T series, which is likely to have the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro, could debut about four months sooner than the previous version.

For reference, the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro were released in various global markets in September 2025, starting at GBP 549 (approximately Rs. 65,000) for the regular model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Xiaomi 15T Pro features a 6.83-inch 1.5K (1,280×2,772 pixels) AMOLED display, capable of a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, a pixel density of 447ppi, a touch sampling rate of 480Hz, protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, and peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits. It runs on an advanced 3nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor. A new report has indicated that the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro will launch with various enhancements. The Xiaomi 17T is said to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro is expected to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip.

This news comes shortly after the global launch of the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra on February 28 in Barcelona, Spain. Both smartphones are set to be introduced in India on March 11. They will both feature Qualcomm's top-tier octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which uses a 3nm manufacturing process. The Xiaomi 17 series will be available for sale in India through Amazon.
