A suspicious boat was sighted off the coast of Raigad in Maharashtra, leading to an increase in security measures in the area on Sunday. The vessel was noticed by security personnel approximately two nautical miles off the Korlai coast in Revdanda in Raigad district, according to police sources. It is believed that the boat may have drifted to Raigad coast and is thought to display markings from another country, as reported by news agency PTI. Following the alert about the suspicious vessel, teams from Raigad Police, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), Quick Response Team (QRT), the Navy, and the Coast Guard were dispatched to the location. Additionally, Raigad Superintendent of Police Anchal Dalal, accompanied by senior police officials, also arrived at the coast to oversee the situation.

Despite prompt action, attempts to approach the boat were hindered by heavy rain and strong winds. The SP herself made an effort to reach the boat using a barge but had to retreat due to unfavorable weather conditions, as mentioned by the official. Meanwhile, a significant police presence was deployed in the vicinity, and overall security in the district was reinforced as a precautionary measure, the official mentioned.
