Narendra Modi Awarded France's Highest Honour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in France tour for an official two-day visit after received an invitation from prime minister. He got a grand welcome at the airport from French prime minister Elisabeth Borne. Narendra Modi was welcomed in between the loud slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram. They are going to have an official discussion about the partnership of both nations. Modi is going to join Macron for Bastille Day celebrations in Paris as the Guest of Honour.

Narendra Modi got the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor. This is the greatest honour from the France government, which will be given to civilians and military. Modi will be the first Indian to receive this honour. The Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor, the ribbon will be red and the badge features a five-armed Maltese asterisk on an oak and laurel wreath. Every year France government honour nearly 300 foreign nationals among total membership of 79,000.

Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in a tweet stated, "A warm gesture embodying the spirit of India-France partnership. PM @narendramodi conferred with the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, the highest award in France by President @EmmanuelMacron."
