On Sunday, 6th February, 2017, In a accidental shooting, a 5-year-old was killed by her 8-year-old brother. Neighbors said, they cannot believe that the mother would leave the children home alone.

Police said that the woman left the children at home to go to the store, and they do not know how long she was gone. Neighbors said that the mother of 5-year-old Serenity is very attentive to attend her children.

Sabrina Loyd, a neighbor told, "Every time I see her, she has her kids. She goes anywhere -- to the mailbox or anything, she always has her kids."

Tim Robinson, a person who lives next door to where Serenity was shot, said that if the mother did leave the children home, he does not think she should be judged.

Robinson also said, "People make mistakes and if she did make a mistake, it was at the wrong time. Other than that, she's always there with her kids."

3 Teens Were Shot Near Arlington High School

It is unclear if the mother will face charges for what happened. Meantime, neighbors say that she did a lot for her children and should not be looked down upon.

Loyd said, "These people on Facebook (and) Instagram (are) saying stuff about this girl and y'all don't even know her. It just hurts my heart because what if something like that was to happen to me? How would y'all feel about me?"

The Child Protective Services also will be involved in the ongoing investigation. Neighbors said that the mother has not returned to her apartment since leaving on Saturday with the police for questioning.
