Seelam Veerapa Naidu, a Hyderabad-based physician had asked Ola Cabs to let him prefer a Hindu driver. His distinguished statement has drawn attention of many social site users.
“Being a Hindu I usually prefer Driver of Hindu Faith Only, Particularly in Hyderabad.. pls Give us a chance to Choose a Driver,” Seelam Veerapa Naidu tweeted to the Ola twitter handle.
The moment Naidu tweeted this statement; he was condemned by twitterati for such decision.
“Sorry, we do not discriminate against our drivers on the basis of their religion,” the app-based cab company tweeted.
Few other cab companies have backed Ola Cab by raising question against Naidu’s discriminatory statement.
“Well said, guys. #respect,” @Uber_Delhi tweeted.
Understanding the sensitivity of the situation, Naidu defended by saying that his demand was not discriminatory and should be considered as customer choice.
“My intention is not to hurt anyone,” he tweeted later.
Coincidental, Naidu’s timeline showed his hatredness towards this cab service and supported government’s proposal on ban of Uber, Ola and other app- based service.
