Florida governor Rick Scott has asked the state authorities to inspect all the federal hospitals serving the veterans.

On Tuesday, Scott sent an official mail to the secretary of the state's main health care agency requesting for the inspections.

Even other elected officials of the state are pressing for a probe on the kind of health provided at these hospitals in the Veterans Affairs Sunshine Healthcare Network.

The initiation was launched after The Tampa Tribune reported last week that five cancer patients died and nine others were injured in the hospital because of delays in diagnosis or treatment through the network that includes Florida, south Georgia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Federal officials have refused to divulge the names of the hospitals in which the deaths occurred.
