Man who killed British soldier charged

Causing shame to the nation, in what is suspected to be an Islamic extremist attack, a couple of men attacked a British soldier in broad daylight in the streets of London and brutally murdered him.

One guy who was arrested in the incident was charged with murder and would be presented in the court on Thursday. The 22 year old Michael Adebowale is one of the main suspects in those known to be involved the killing of Lee Rigby, 25.

Lee Rigby was hit with a car and gruesomely killed to death by stabbing with knives and cleavers near his barracks southeast London's Woolwich district. After the attack, two men with bloody knives and meat cleavers were spotted on the surveillance cameras. Police had immediately shot and wounded them.

Another suspect Michael Adebolajo, 28, remains hospitalized in stable condition. Adebowale was discharged from a hospital on Tuesday and taken into custody.

Adebowale also was charged with a firearms offense related to possessing a 9.4 mm revolver with the intent "to cause persons to believe that unlawful violence would be used," police said in a statement announcing the charges.

The police pressed charges right after reports confirmed from autopsy that the death was a result of "multiple incised wounds”.

Kenyan police have said they believed Adebolajo, a British citizen, had earlier associated with a radical Kenyan Muslim cleric who tried to help him join an al-Qaida-linked rebel group in neighboring Somalia.
