Nandita says, Bollywood lacks in variety!

Nandita Das was found at the proceeding Cannes Film Festival wherein she stressed on the fact that she had to put all her skills into action collectively during the making 'Firaaq'. While another prominent factor remains that it’s been five years and she recently found a story for her next. On the contrary she emphasized on the factor that it is indeed time taking element for an independent director compile it.

It remains a noteworthy fact, that it's been Nandita’s second stint at Cannes in addition to the  reason that she is here to serve on the Short Film Corner as well as Cine Foundation jury for which she expressed her feel of honour as she happens to love seeing shorts, the actor, director added.

The actor has acted in many short films at the same time admires the format, and regret bitterly they never find a mainstream platform. While Nandita furthered saying that short films have a different rhythm as well they stay with you, similar to the short stories that one reads and that we need to maintain our focus on thematic connectors to connect short films together to find theatrical release.  Nandita even added that she is happy a film like 'Bombay Talkies' which have been made by connecting together four shorts has been screened at Cannes.

The films screened at Cannes are admired by Nandita due to the fact that she finds a greater evidence to belief in the filmmakers. On the contrary, In India, economics interferes with art too much, she mentioned rudely.

Nandita was known to have pointed out that even countries like Romania, Turkey, Iran where perhaps five films are made a year, have cinematic gems, while in India, with even 1,000 films being made across regions, here are barely any as a prominent fact that our films are not pushing the boundaries to an critical extent.

During the concluding phase, she feels happy that there are a few young filmmakers trying to create a new wave of Indian cinema yet variety is missing in Bollywood. Nandita stresses that this is why we have had no contribution to world cinema after Satyajit Ray.

The true essence of cinematic excellence lies in it's actuality along with mindset of the film-maker as how he wants to present it to the world, enriched with utmost variety.

It's a great challenge to be accepted!
