Non-Resident Indians invariably be excited to visit their home country, while some unveil it by sharing with their closed ones some go to an extent of sharing particulars on social media, which sometimes be a drawback.

An Indian origin man Joystan Lobo is one such voter, who hails from Mangaluru and is currently living in Muscat, Oman. Recently, Joystan shared a video to show off the flight tickets he booked and let the whole world know about him coming home to cast vote. In the video, he openly spoke in support of a party candidate and wanted to encourage his friends and those watching the video to go and cast their vote.

While Joystan was tied up flaunting his Air India flight ticket, someone was busy noting down the details from the video and secretly canceled it. Someone accessed his PNR details and canceled the tickets. Disappointed Joystan had to again book the ticket in March, causing him a loss of money.

According to DaijiWorld, "One of his friends settled at Puttur streamed this video through WhatsApp, Facebook, and other social media. Within two hours from then, the ticket was canceled without the knowledge of Joystan." Lobo said that he paid over Rs. 21,000 for his round-trip but got a refund of only Rs. 9000. However, this incident didn't stop him from casting his vote in time.

He told a news website, "I was unaware about the cancellation of ticket. The ticket was canceled on March 30 at around 11:15 am (Oman time). I came to know about the cancellation of the ticket on April 1. I rebooked the ticket on the same day for April 4 and reached India,” Lobo told the news website.

Though beyond question technology is a boon, it will turn into a bane if you don’t deal with it carefully. Sometimes your over-excitement or enthusiasm can land you in a fuss.
