As the whole of Britain waits with baited breath for the arrival of the royal baby, even Queen Elizabeth seems to be losing her patience now. The Queen is due to for a holiday soon and wants Prince William and Kate's first born and the future heir to her throne to arrive before she leaves.

The Queen, who was recently on the Lake District in northern England, was asked by a few school children if she wants her future heir to be a prince or princess.

"I don't think I mind. I would very much like it to arrive. I'm going on holiday," she told children at the Wiggonby Church of England Primary School on Wednesday.

Every summer the queen visits her Scottish country estate, Balmoral. She is due to go on a holiday by next Tuesday.

Although royal officials have  stayed tight-lipped about the due date of the delivery, buzz is that the baby is all set to be delivered this week.

World media's has camped outside St. Mary's Hospital in London where Kate is due to give birth.

So far the royal tradition goes, Queen Elizabeth will be the first person to be apprized of the birth, with a handwritten note delivered to the Buckingham Palace conveying the news of the baby's birth.

A note will then be hanged outside the gates of the palace informing the world of the royal baby's arrival.
