Tata sends strong signal with new vehicles

INDIA’S leading auto maker, Tata Motors is taking the automobile world by storm with the unveiling of its wide range of new generation passenger and commercial vehicles and concepts.

With over 20 vehicle models displayed at the last Delhi Motor Show, Tata showcased the breadth of its technological capability. This is a signal that with its array of products ranging from the small Nano with less than 1.0 litre engine to large trucks of over 75 tons, Tata, has resolved to compete in all vehicle categories. The unique thing about this brand is that it has something to offer customers in every segment, be it small, medium, large or extra-large.

In the passenger vehicle category alone, Tata has about 10 new models, which include the much talked-about world cheapest car, Nano Concept and Nano CNG Concept, Pixel Concept, Indica Vista Concept S2, Indigo Manza Hybrid Concept and Indigo Manza Nova Concept.

Others are Safari Storme (SUV), Aria-AT Concept (MPV), Sumo Gold, and Xenon Concept (Pickup).

Tata commercial vehicle segment is growing in numbers too. With new models like Tata Ultra 714, Ultra 1017, LPT 3723, Prima 7548S Concept and Prima 3138K AT, Tata has left no one in doubt that it has what it takes to rival the very best in the world commercial vehicle segment.

Tata has also rolled out large buses to compete in this segment. The Starbus-fuel cell (hydrogen) Concept, Paradiso-G7 – multi axle coach from Tata show that Tata has also arrived in this segment which hitherto was formerly dominated by European and American makers.

Tata venture ambulance, super ace LHD, Ace Ex Refresh and Magic Iris CNG show the company’s ability to create an entirely new vehicle class to cater for people’s need.

Interestingly, some of these models will be introduced into the Nigerian market later this year at low prices backed with genuine parts and after sales backup, according to a Tata Africa Services source.

Tata no doubt is one of the biggest players in the automobile world presently.

With consolidated revenues of $27 billion, Tata Motors through its subsidiaries and associate companies has operations in the United Kingdom, South Korea, Thailand, Spain and South Africa.

Among them is Jaguar Land Rover, two iconic British brands. It also distributes Fiat in India and has a joint venture with Fiat India.

Tata has over 6.5 million vehicles on India’s road and is the world’s fourth largest truck manufacturer and third largest bus producer.
